Monster Mash

Hey

It's been a while as I been so busy with placement but this weekend, I took some time off to carve pumpkins with my flatmates as it's Halloween on Wednesday!!! I was making a bit of a messy, flinging the contents of my pumpkin about as I was trying to hollow it out. I think they turned out pretty well. Kat's one as Jack the Pumpkin King is amazing! I can't believe that Fran hasn't carved a pumpkin before either.

Slightly annoyed that Halloween is mid week as still on placement :(

STOP! In The Name Of Love

Hey

I've already done a post about it being breast cancer awareness month, but I also wanted to do a post about it being Stoptober. If you ask any of my friends they will tell you that I'm really against smoking for the amount of damage it does to your health and I would willingly get into a debate about it. So I just wanted to draw attention it to the fact that if you want to quit then this is the month to do it as there is loads of help out there to achieve it.

Just one year after quitting, you can half your cardiovascular risk!

Science and Faith

Hey

This weekend my and my flat mates took advantage of having over travel cards for placement by heading into London for the day. We didn't really have a plan but we ended up at the Science Museum as it's free admission. As it's so big we didn't do all of it but I did seem drawn to the medical aspects that were on display.

The Pink Box is a Treatment for Brochial Infections
(I could fingure out how to get my phone to zoom)
We didn't go around the Health Matters part which has the history of medicine on it but as my sister wants to go I'm sure I get to look round it then. The Who Am I? section was fun as it has lots of interactive hobs in it so you can have play for hours including see where in the country your surname is most common.

After the museum we head to Harrods to get a cupcake (which I didn't actually end up getting :( ).But we did head up to the pet shop and the puppies they have are SO adorable. I really need to finish quickly so I can go get one :). We also passed through the Disney World they have set up on the 4th floor to go with the Disney Princesses Christmas window displays (they're aren't up yet, it's still James Bond). It was a bit of a flying visit for I will differently be going back to shop properly once the Christmas windows are done. I just wish they had some of the dress in bigger sizes.

Pink!

Hey

It's been a very busy week as have been on placement and had to get use to commuting again. Early hours and busy tubes aren't fun.

However at the weekend I've painted my pinkie pink for Breast cancer awareness. The whole month is breast cancer awareness month but I can't have my nails painted for work so I have to keep it for the weekends. It's a great campaign to get behind in any way you can. My sister did a post about how to go pink with some of her favourite picks at there at the moment.

O.P.I - I'm All Ears
I haven't got the Pinkie Pink from Nails Inc. so I used a pink I had to join in. Use what ever pink you like to go pink this month and put your pinkie up for breast cancer!

Last Friday Night

Hey

So this past weekend I went out with some of my uni mates to celebrate my birthday as it was before I came back to uni this year. We were hoping to go to the Ice Bar but that was fully booked so we ended up just heading into London and going to eat somewhere. First we headed to Piccadilly Circus to try the TGI Friday's there but it was like a 90 minute wait so we tried Planet Hollywood but then decided to head to Covent Garden to try the TGI there. It was still a 90 minute wait but we were all starving by this time so we took a buzzer and patiently waited at the bar with drinks.

The night was quite eventfully actually. After finally getting a table at 10pm, when our food arrived one order was wrong and one was forgotten. However the staff were very apologetic and threw in a free cocktail for my friend who was missing her meal, her meal for free, and fries that were missing from my meal. I also got told off for being too nosey as I was enquiring into what people were saying to each other and later found out why I was being told off.

My friends had apparently been bugging the staff that it was my birthday and asked if I could have a candle in my dessert. I didn't order a dessert as it was like half 11 by the time we all finished eating but after being stood on a chair and sung Happy Birthday too, I also got a free dessert.
