It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Hey

This year I decided to make cupcakes for my friends as Christmas presents as I haven't been able to do much baking while at uni. Each received 3 cupcakes - Rudolph, Christmas tree and a Snowman.

The antlers on Rudolph were the trickiest part - using melted chocolate to stick matchsticks together wasn't easy, especially when you have 10 pairs to make.

Winter Wonderland

Hey

As always, before I come home for Christmas, my sister comes to visit and we go off to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, a bit of a tradition since I've been at university. The weather was great as it was pouring down most of the morning. At least it wasn't as busy as it has been in past years. One of my flatmates and one of my sister's friends came as well.

We also went to go and see the Magical Ice Kingdom as it was new to Winter Wonderland this year. It was freezing inside but at least it made the outside seem warmer when we came out. No one though about bringing them magnetic gloves so that they could be used with our phones so we took turns to freeze our hands for photos.

We then finished the day off with drinks and food with some of my sister's friends that live and work around London.

Step Into Christmas

Hey

I've finally finished for Christmas and am home, after an exam and handing in one assignment. I still can't really rest through as I still have three assignments to hand in after Christmas. I just wanted to share some more Christmas window displays that I've enjoyed while I've been out and about.

Gingerbread are always Christmassy

There are also lots of lovely food and drink available at this time of the year so here is some of what I've been sampling.

I wanted to keep my mug, but I wasn't allowed as I wasn't the one who put the deposit down on them :(

Wonderful Christmastime

Hey

For my last weekend at university, me and my flatmates went to a local pub to have a Christmas lunch as the other girls weren't as confident about cooking lunch ourselves. We also got to exchange our secret Santa presents. We all got into the Christmas spirit with our hats from crackers. I lost my cracker gift until we were about to leave, and I spotted it on the floor.

A Winter's Tale

Hey

The other weekend I went down to Bristol and got the chance to do a bit of Christmas window shopping. There was a German Christmas market there as well, so looked round yet another market. When you got a drink on the market at the bar, you had to pay a deposit for the mugs. I wanted to keep mine but I wasn't allowed :(

The only other very Christmassy part in Bristol I would say was at Cribbs Causeway which is a huge shopping centre. In their Winter Wonderland, there a ice rink outside and Santa's Enchanted Ice Castle where you could go meet the Ice Queen and her elves before seeing Santa.

Christmas Lights

Hey

Since I've been at university, I always done London by night at Christmas so that I can see all the Christmas lights. Nothing will beat last year as one of my flatmates came with me and she completely made us crack up when we were buying some food that was a tad expensive near the ice rink outside the History Museum. Although we did some new lights this year as we visited the London Eye.

London Eye

These lights counted down the 12 days of Christmas
as you travelled down the road

We also down Knightsbridge as you have to see the Harrods lights at night, it's just so recognisable.

It was hard getting the Princesses especially as there was road works

I was a bit worried when I heard that Marmite were sponsoring the lights this year down Oxford Street. I was pleasantly surprised. I disappointed I couldn't get a picture of the the reindeer one :(

Rockin Around The Christmas

Hey

Although I went home a couple of weeks ago, I haven't had time to post pictures of our Christmas that we put up and decorated (even though it was in November).

I went home so I could go to the Bury's Christmas Market and that night, we decorated the tree as I have missed it for the last two years while I've been at university. Over tree has lots of new treats this year including the Disney decorations we got on holiday in August, little mice we picked up when Christmas shopping at Harrods, and some little cuties we picked up at the Christmas market.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

How lovely are your branches?

I named him Gus Gus

Hope everyone else has enjoyed their Christmas tree!
