Dumb Jokes

Hey

So it's my first week back at uni and it's freshers week. My flatmates are getting a bit annoyed at me as I won't go out drinking and seem to be revising the whole time as we start placement next week. However we did all go out last night to see Michael McIntyre's Showtime at the O2 arena as we've had the tickets for ages!

The tube ride was interesting as one of my flatmates was still a bit worse for wear due to the drinking done the night before. But we managed to make it there all in one piece and even though we were sitting in our seats with still an hour to go before the show started, the time speeded past. Our seats were pretty good - very central.

People always seem to file in at the last minute.

I would definitely recommend getting the dvd when it comes out 12th November, and even going to see it if you can find tickets anywhere.

Little Bird

Hey

Last summer I attempted to find one of the Hummingbird bakeries - the one near Liverpool Street station, but only managed to get within feet of it. However yesterday I finally managed to get in the door and sample some of their delicious offerings.

Out of the selection they had today I picked to try the Caramel Frappe cupcake. It looked very cute and I hope to go back and get one of their other milkshake and frappe themed cupcakes later in the week as they have a different one each day of the week.

Birthday Cake

Hey

So after my mum and sister made me Disney themed cupcakes for my birthday, I recreated the Belle and Beast ones for my friend the following week for her birthday. I did have help from my mum, especially as I had to make 24 red roses to go on top of the Belle cupcakes.

Me

Hey

I've had a very busy weekend as it was my birthday and as I've seen catching up with my friends before I had back to uni next weekend.

With catch ups over lunch and drinks, losing at bowling and visiting small villages with cute shops, I felt like I've done a lot more in the last couple of days than I have for most of my summer.

On my birthday I had quite a themed day - Beauty and the Beast. I had to share my cupcakes as my sister didn't get a cake for her birthday as she wasn't feeling well. I got lemon Belle, chocolate Beast and mint choc chip Dalmation cupcakes while my sister for vanilla Stitch and lavander Angel cupcakes.

The Belle ornament was from Disneyland Paris, when
we went for my 18th
The idea for the cupcakes came from a blog post I show my mum just a couple days before my birthday and I will be trying to make the Belle and Beast ones for my friend's birthday at the weekend as she is also a Disney fan. I hope to one day have a party where I can try out all the Beauty and the Beast goods from the post.

I also got some Beauty and the Beast themed presents including a mirror, "Mrs Potts" tea pot and cup set, a "Chip" tea cup necklace.

I paired my "Chip" necklace with my Belle t-shirt that I picked up when I was at Disneyland for an obvious Beauty and the Beast outfit. During the day I wore jeans, while in the evening I paired it with a demin skirt.

I chose to go to Zak's for my birthday meal and I just had to share the dessert that I ended up picking. It's a sweet burger - ice cream, maltesers, marshmallows, waffle, marple syrup and cookie sandwich. I ended up having a little bit of help from my sister and mum, and only left one of the cookies.

Something There

Hey

Last day at Disney is always a sad one as you never want to leave. I didn't manage to get everyone up so we can go in at 8, but we did go in about an hour earlier (one of the perks when staying in a Disneyland Hotel). The rides that have fast pass aren't as been then although there is a stampede at 10 o'clock when everyone can come in.

We focused on doing rides on the last day instead of parades and we had finished off most of our shopping that wasn't done till just before leaving the park. We finished off our stay with a trip on the train around the whole park before stopping off for ice cream at Gibson Girl in Main Street USA.

I never take a good photo when I'm eating - Good waffle though!

I saved my favourite character to DisneyBound as till last - Belle. I wished had met Belle while I was at Disneyland, at least I got to see her in Fantillusion.

As soon as I'm on the Eurostar home from Disney, I start counting down the days till I return. Au revoir Disneyland Paris.

A Mouse Like Me

Hey

For the last night at the parks, I changed before we headed to Annette's for dinner before going back into the park to watch the fireworks and Fantillusion for the last time as they are now stopping it as a parade :(. I disneybounded as a very obvious choice that night.

Black Shorts from NewLook,

Annette's Diner has amazing food and you get served by people on rollerskates (well one guy on rollerskates). He managed to come the stairs on them and not faceplant into the counter at the bottom - impressive. He even posed for a photo with me :)

The Second Star To The Right

Hey

So for the third day of my holiday I was inspired to DisneyBound from one of my favourite films - Peter Pan. Tinkerbell is one of my favourite characters (along with Belle who I was inspired for on the last day) so I tried incorporate her style into my outfit. I also used a hairstyle I found on youtube that remind me of her bun.

I didn't really get a good close up of my accessories. Last time I went to Disney it was for my 18th birthday and we stayed in the Tinkerbell suite in the main Disneyland Hotel, and for clues to this I got lots of Tinkerbell themed gifts included the Disney Couture Tinkerbell earrings I wore and the Kidada for Disney Couture Tinkerbell second star to the right book necklace I wore.

For my hair I did a style from Let's Make It Up - a channel on youtube. This is the link for the hairstyle I did, although I didn't do all the the small braids to add detail to the bun (it might be clearer in the picture above actually).

Wide Eye Owl

Hey

As it was my mum's birthday last weekend, I ended up doing two lots of baking. My first cupcakes were apple streusel that I made for pudding. I didn't really like the recipe as the butter was given in tablespoons not in a weight, so I had to remake the streusel topping. The finished product turned out very well even if I do say so myself.

The second cupcakes I made this week were with my sister for my mum's birthday. As my mum likes owls, my sister decided we should try and make these owl cupcakes she saw on a blog. She left me to find the recipe and ingredients for them, which I couldn't find, so I had to go by what was in the photo. We did have a bit of the problem with the eyes as we had to get cheap Oreos which wouldn't really come apart very easily. We also didn't have space for the wings and some of the eyes kept falling off (perhaps it would have helped if I mixed up the icing and royal sugar again).

Circle of Life

Hey

My second outfit of the trip was inspired by The Lion King. I didn't select a specific character so I selected a song. When I bought this dress it just reminded me of the start of the film, where they are welcoming Simba because of the colours and the Zebras along the bottom. I then paired it with a giraffe ring I found.

This outfit was a good choice for this day as we ended up going to the Rainforest Cafe to eat that night (and I'm aware lions don't live in the rainforest).

Bibbibi Bobbibi Boo

Hey

So the first day I took my inspiration from Cinderella in her rag outfit from the start of the film. It was a bit cold standing waiting for the fireworks at the end of the night because of the shorts. I had little bird earrings which I didn't get a photo of.

I have my sister's sunglasses on my head which wasn't part of my outfit, but she had bought some Minnie Mouse ears literally as soon as we got there which she was wearing.

Magic Everywhere

Hey

So I'm back from Disneyland Paris. Have to say I do miss it, I never like having to come home from there. This year was their 20th anniversary so there was a new parade - Magic on Parade, and new firework display - Dreams and a new celebration train (which we didn't actually get round to seeing - guess will have to go back at some point).

Just as you enter the park

We spent 2 days at the main park, one at the studios and then had a day shopping at the designer outlet for my sister before we went running around the Disney lake which we always say we will do when we go there.

Magic on Parade

We stayed till closing on two nights to be able to watch the Dreams, as it was the last few nights of the summer season and the opening hours were going to be shorten. I can't believe that the Fantillusion parade will no longer be used. The firework display was amazing, especially all the laser work and projects onto the castle and water. Especially enjoyed it as one of my favourite movies was the star - Peter Pan (well at least his escaped shadow).

I tried to DisneyBound everyday I was there and even did a change one day to get a extra outfit in. I'll do separate posts for each outfit I tried.
