Positive

Hey

So I've made it to halfway in my penultimate placement, and feedback was good :) so I can't complain. Hopefully when I finish I should get a mark that I'm happy with, I just need to keep working hard.

So this weekend I relaxed a bit. On Saturday morning, had breakfast at Frankie and Benny's and started the day off with bacon and syrup pancakes. My sister thinks the combination is a bit odd, I thought so too until I tried it, but now it's definitely my recommendation for breakfast if you can order it. I would really like to find a buttermilk pancakes recipe so I can try and recreate it at home. Any ideas of where I can find a decent recipe??

I then went to see Cloud Atlas at the cinema. It's very confusing. I hadn't read the book, although I am considering getting it once I've finished uni and have some more free time. I did a bit of research after watching it, but still think if I watched it again, there would be things I could pick up on.

Coming out from the cinema, the film really made me think about stuff (although I not quite sure about what though). I also continue my slight pig out weekend with Ben and Jerry's ice cream, which as always I finished before the film even started.

I also indulgenced with home made chocolate cake. Can't wait until I home and I can bake until my heart's content.

From The Heart

Hey

So this month is National Heart Month. In London at the moment, there are two LOVE installations to help share the love around and raise money for the British Heart Foundation. I saw the Covent Garden installation, but there is also one at Camden Lock Market. I didn't write a message on a heart but I wished I had. They are only up until the 17th February, when I went get an opportunity to now   :( Hopefully they will be back next year so I can.

There is one at Covent Garden which is a proposal, how sweet is that. I do wonder what will be done with them once the installations go. I also can't decide where I would have wanted to have mine hanging if I had written one - Covent Garden or Camden Lock Market?

Eggs and Their Shells

Hey

So in Covent Garden at the moment, there is an invasion of EGGS! They are only there until tomorrow before heading off around the UK and returning to Covent Garden for the finale. It's part of the big egg hunt. If you find Humpty Dumpty you could win a years supply of chocolate. Not bad. I didn't go round and find all 101 of them, but here are a few of the ones I liked :)

Found You!

Peter!

And as always when I go into London, here's the cupcake I got from The Cupcake Bakehouse.

Speak the Word

Hey

So Valentine's day was yesterday. I don't quite get why there should be only one special day in the year when you tell the person you love, how much you love them. I think you should do that as much as you can so that they know!

However I guess it does provide the opportunity to tell people how you feel when you don't always have the chance to. So I thought I thought I let a wise bear share some thoughtful words for the ones we love :)

Pancakes, Pancakes!

Hey

So it's Pancake Day!!!! I do like a good pancake, sadly even with 4 students we could get a add water mixture to work. I normally make a batter from scratch with my mum when I'm at home. I can say without a doubt, that tonight's experience of pre-made batter mixtures is going to change my mind on making them from scratch in the future.

Pancake number 5!
We some how managed to get 2 pancakes semi OK to eat. Lots of sugar and lemon juice helped :)

One of my flatmates (not attempting to make pancakes) informed us that there is a place in Covent Garden that does really good pancakes. I have googled it and I think it is Creme de la Crepe. I looks like it has the lots of variety of sweet and savoury, from classics to inventive. I like the sound of the stewed apples and cinnamon crumble :D YUM!!

Thank God It's Friday

Hey

So now that is week is over, I have only 11 weeks left of placement left until I finish, meaning that I only have 13 weeks until Uni is finished! My commute is a bit long but the placement is nice so that makes up for it.

To reward myself for getting through this first week, I treated myself to lunch at Costa on the way home.Even though it was cold I still got a red berry fruit cooler so it tastes so good :)

Mmmmm Bacon Roll. My drink didn't survive the bus
ride back to uni
What also helped me get through this week was that I found a few blogs on Tumblr that definitely cheered me up when I was tired in the evening. The first one is Magical Ribbons. It's a site where you can buy handmade ribbon accessories that are inspired by your favourite Disney characters along with areas of the parks. I managed to create an order that I can't really afford at the moment (good thing you can only order at certain times of the month) and entered the design a bow competition.

My attempt at designing a bow
The second blog was How Do I Put This Disney. There's definitely a theme emerging :) It is just a fun site using clips and pictures of Disney films to explain different everyday situations and they are SO true!!

The last thing I did was also to enter a competition for The Hummeringbird Bakery's new book - Home Sweet Home. All you have to do is go to their Facebook page and say what you favourite cake is once clicking on the link and you could win afternoon tea at their Spitalfields Bakery.
