Hey
When my family came down for the weekend, we went down to Windsor to go to round the castle. I've been to Windsor a lot during the last year, but I still hadn't been to the castle.
It wasn't the nicest day to go round the castle as it was raining but still managed to see the doll's house and state rooms. Afterwards we went for lunch at a nice local pub just opposite the castle to warm up from the cold.

Abracadabra
Hey
So had a busy week as just started my placement. It hasn't been too busy although the times of it make doing anything after getting back a bit tiring.
So during my week off between exams and placements, I got to go to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour for the Making of Harry Potter. It was a lot bigger than I expected when they told you to allow 3 hours to go all the way around it.
While you are there, you have the opportunity to buy "Butter Beer". It was nice but too much of it was a bit sickly. I would be interested in trying to turn it into a cupcake. I found out it was made from at least butter scotch and shortbeard. I wasn't able to tell what else was in there. Think I would either do a butter scotch cupcake with crushed shortbread mixed into a vanilla butter cream. Or I would do a shortbread and cinammon cupcake and do a butter scotch frosting. Will have to try out these recipes when I get home for the summer after my placements.
There was also a lot of amazing pictures and paper models of the settings. There was also the huge model of Hogwarts that they used for the wide sweeping shots for the film.

White Lines
Hey
For a couple of days this past week I went house hunting on the Isle of Wight. It wasn't for me, but it was nice to go and have a nosy around houses.
The first day had nice weather and only rained once we got to the hotel in Yarmouth.
The house hunting on the first day didn't go well. Nothing was that amazing. One house, you would be paying for the view as the house required a complete overhaul.
That night had a very nice at the pub next to the hotel. Had white bait for a starter, which I haven't had for ages, as the pub near uni as stopped having it as a starter due to supply. There was a wall in the pub that had a quote on it that, quite a few of people were taking photos of. I would have done as well if I didn't think I would be called weird.
I stayed at The George Hotel, which had stairs on a slant as it was that old. The rooms were however very nicely finished and it had a great view when it wasn't raining.
The second day bought some nicer houses. Even looked round a vineyard that came with a house, but the vineyard was the best bit. The house needed a lot of work and it was much smaller than I expected. The third house we viewed was my favourite. It was beautifully done, had lots of storage, great kitchen, lots of rooms and a cute dog that joined showing us around.
After all that got stuck in a traffic jam on the M3 on the way back, and don't even know if they want to move to the Isle of Wight.

Primrose Lane
Hey
I've had a very busy week, so my posts aren't going to be in order as I didn't have time to do throughout the days.
As tomorrow I start my next placement, I did a practice run of it yesterday so I don't get lost on the tubes. My placement is kinda near a bakery that I wanted to go to since see a book of its recipes after Christmas. So I took a wonder that way after timing my commute (about a half hour walk away).
Primrose Bakery has two shops in London, I went to the one on Gloucester Avenue. It has a yellow shop face so you can't miss it. It was smaller than I was expecting and the the cakes were only labelled and priced if they were on the counter top not the the shelves below.
I ended up selecting a chocolate bomb, carrot cupcake and a mini vanilla cupcake.
The carrot one was good as it didn't have walnuts in but it did have lots of currants which I thought overpowered the carrot taste. The chocolate bomb had a marshmallow top which was covered in chocolate. You can't see from the picture very well but the marshmallow part was quite big, I thought it was a bit too much. I thought it could have been better if it had a marshmallow middle and just a chocolate frosting.
Still haven't decided whether I should buy their recipe book or not yet.

Hey
I'm having a very busy week. I've had lunch with the Queen, house hunting on the Isle of Wight, and going to get up to some mischief magic today. Hopefully will get some time tomorrow to write about it all.

Soak Up The Sun
Hey
Lucky for me, yesterday was beautiful. This was as I went down to Southampton to meet some friends and see their beautiful daughter. As it was nice out, we head down to Lepe beach to have a walk and play on the playpark. Little Micha decided that I was her new best friend as she liked to hold me hand while walking.
After tiring her out on the park, we headed to the cafe to have some ice creams, and Micha got a tad messy drinking chocolate milk. She wanted to drink it herself and tipped it a bit too much, OOPS :)
We then headed over to The Bold Forester, for a drink as some of Steve's family were down. It slightly turned into a baby fest, but who doesn't like a cute baby to cuddle.

Work Hard Play Hard
Hey!!
I have finally finished my exams!!! And I won't have to do anymore ever (hopefully won't have to resit any) as in my final year I'm on placement and only have a few assignments and my dissertation to do :) And my placement for May got sorted out. It was then got cancelled but I have been sorted again, so that is another thing off my mind.
Now as I have a week off before starting placement, I'm going to relax while doing some revision for placements. I should be up to something most day so will try to post anything interesting I get up to.

Another One Bites the Dust!!
Hey
How happy am I?? Very!! I've done one of my 2 exams for this year and I think it went well. I can't complain as the questions I wanted came up. Now I have a week to revise for my next and final exam, as I don't have any formal exams next year.
I will be right back on it tomorrow revising after this evening off :)

The Winner Takes It All
Hey
Although my exams start this week, the end of last week saw the Sports Fed Ball arrive. After weeks of just revising, I needed an evening off and it meant I could catch up with the fencing lot which I hadn't seen for a while.
First thing when it comes to Balls for girls is what dress to wear?? And it took me a while to find on. I dragged my mum round Norwich for a day when I was home for Easter, and couldn't find anything I liked. I didn't even really know what I was looking for. So after a google for shops, we set off to find a dress shop, and was relieved when it was actually a shop not someone's house (as it was among lots of houses). After trying on I don't know how many dresses both long and short (was looking for 2 but only got 1 in the end), I settled on a to the floor plum ball gown that had one shoulder.
On the night, we drove past the hotel and couple of times before noticing the turn off for it as we were turning down a road. When we finally got there, at least it wasn't raining as it would have wrecked the bottom of my dress.
The night was good. There was a photograph taking photos for the night doing both team shots and couples. The black backdrop wasn't good for showing up colours of dresses (mine looked black). It was a nice touch that all the tables were named after the Olmpic years and venues. When we finally sat down to eat it was fun to see that they had sweet on the table to eat and that each person was provided with a winner's medal. It seemed to take ages to eat, as between each course came the awards. There is alot of sports club at Brunel so it takes a long team to go through them all. At least it was amazing seeing the presenter trying to pronounce some the names of students. There also seemed to be an informal cheering competition going on. Think the hockey teams won! We also discovered that wine isn't friends with Fran, it gets her too tipsy too quickly for her liking :)
After the meal was over there was more photos, dancing and we'd all been given paper money to play on some casino tables (2 black jacks and 2 roulette) with and who ever had the most at the end of the night won a lovely cuddly bunny!! At least I got a good at betting. Wouldn't say I was too bad for a beginner.
